Our Dance team performed at the Towers Dance Competition on Wednesday 16th November and came second.

The Year 3/4 Sportstacking went to Highworth to compete. We had 2 teams in this week’s tournament; both competed brilliantly, taking part in all the different stacks they had practised.

In the end, Lady J came 6th and 7th out for 13 teams – great results! All the children had loads of fun and spent their time waiting between events ‘productively’!!

Well done to:
Fynn, Ethan, Evie and Isabella
Charlie, Ben, Aimee and Lucy

Year 4 Team

4 children from Year 4 (Molly, Simran, Harry and Harvey) took part in Lady J’s first ever Sport Stacking tournament. This is where the competitors have to stack cups in all sorts of ways including a 3-3-3 (3 stacks of 3!), a 3-6-3 or a 1-10-1.

None of the children or Miss Law were entirely sure what was going to happen but the team did fantastically supporting one another. Although they were nervous at first, they put into practise the skills they had learnt over the last few weeks.

The team came 10th out of 28 teams which was fantastic!! Well done to them!

Another outing for basketball!

After finishing 3rd in the basketball tournament, the same team had the opportunity to play in the Ashford finals. It was much tougher than the first round but all played incredibly well as a team again.

The team lost 2 matches, drew 2 matches and won 2 matches (against St. Mary’s and Mersham – who they had previously lost to in the last round, showing how brilliantly they stepped up to the challenge!) They scored some excellent goals, and had some unlucky misses gone in, some of the loses could have easily become draws, if not wins!

Congratulations to Ben, Alfie, Jimmy, Mason, Ellis, Hannah, Molly and Eve who came 5th overall in Ashford! Brilliant work! They worked so hard together, supporting each other and cheering from the sidelines. Great work!!

Congratulations to the Year 6 team for coming 3rd in the Ashford Basketball. In their group, they played 4 matches, winning 3 and drawing 1 (although with the amount of shots on target, we should have won!) After winning the group, we then played a match against Mersham. Although the team played well, they lost 2-0. This meant we were in the 3rd/4th playoff against Kennington. After a slow start, they played incredibly as a team and ended up winning 2-0. A fantastic 3rd place! The whole team showed brilliant sportsmanship and worked superbly together. Miss Law was very proud of them all!

Well done to: Alfie, Ellis, Mason, Jimmy, Ben, Hannah, Eve and Molly.

Handball Competition

The team that came 3rd in the North Ashford tournament had the opportunity to participate in the Ashford finals. They played incredibly well during the group stage, beating Hamstreet 2-1 and Beaver Green 3-0. They lost against Phoenix 1-0 in a very tight game. The group stage was very tight and it meant we came 3rd on goal difference. We went through to play St Mary’s and won 6-1. We then played a 5th/6th playoff against Beaver Green again and won 3-0, meaning we came 5th overall in Ashford.

Well done to the team on their success!

Congratulations to all teams who competed in the North Ashford Handball tournament last week. We had 3 teams compete who all played fantastically.

Lady J 1 came 3rd, progressing to the whole of Ashford Handball tournament next week and after Lady J 2 played Lady J 3 in their playoff, Lady J 2 came 7th with Lady J 3 coming 8th out of 14 teams. Congratulations to all who took part!

Lady J1: Mackenzie (GK), Matthew, Daniel, Ryan, Eve, Lauren

Lady J2: Thomas (GK), Dhilan (GK), Mason, Louis, Ellie, Molly

Lady J3: Harry (GK), Kyle, Elliot, Finn, Isobel, Ellen

Congratulations to the two Year 4 teams that entered into the recent Ashford & Tenterden District Handball Competition.  It was the first time we have entered this competition and they did really well. Owl class finished 3rd in their group and Kingfishers finished 4th resulting in a semi-final between the two teams in the Shield Competition.  Kingfisher won 2-0 and went on to win the next 2 matches winning the Shield!!  Well done to all.

Owl: Jed, Mason, Zak, Lucy, Aimee

Kingfisher: Zak, Fynn, Charlie W, Charlie P, Molly, Poppy

We have been awarded the SILVER Sports Mark Award this year.  Congratulations to all the boys and girls and Miss Law for keeping track of all that goes on in sports in school!!!

Gold next year..?
